Dozens of teams gathered in the Delph Market Square in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire on Shrove Tuesday, 4th March 2014 for the annual Sport Relief Pancake Race.

Entries to the race included teams from businesses and organisations as well as teams of friends – some of which raced as company mascots in the annual mascot race.

Keystone sponsored the ‘Keystone Corner’ (pictured right) section of the race track and entered a team of 4; Noel Kennedy, Gareth Huckerby, Sam Leaver and Patrick Rowlandson from the Swadlincote office. Sadly they were not to repeat the success of the 2013 race, when they finished with a bronze medal; instead falling down the table as a result of a time penalty issued for an ‘Illegal flip’.

Community activities are fundamental to the ethos of the company, especially when they involve a cause like Sport Relief.

While it is currently unknown how much was raised throughout the course of the day, each runner paid a £4 entry fee. Many spectators were around the track for the event throughout the day, making donations to the many charity collectors stationed around the hay bale obstacle course. All proceeds from the event went to Sport Relief. View the image gallery of the event below.
