Keystone Lintels has strengthened its sustainability credentials with the publication of BRE verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Available to architects, specifiers and contractors, these documents provide clear, third party data on the full lifecycle impact of its products.
Now published on GreenBook Live and NBS Source, Keystone’s EPD covers Hi-Therm+, Standard cavity wall, timber frame, single leaf and box lintels.
The EPD follows EN 15804 by providing clear information on environmental indicators such as embodied carbon, resource use and end-of-life impacts. It means architects, specifiers and contractors can use Keystone Lintels with confidence, knowing they have access to transparent and comparable environmental data. This also helps support BREEAM, LEED green building certification systems and wider customer sustainability requirements, all of which increasingly rely on EPDs.
Commenting on the EPD verification scheme, Jonathan Fee, Technical Director at Keystone Lintels said: “As a market leader, we have always taken our responsibility seriously when it comes to product performance and the environmental impact of what we manufacture. Securing a BRE verified EPD is a significant step because it gives our customers clear, independently assessed data they can trust.”
“There is a lot of scrutiny on embodied carbon across the industry, and rightly so. Our technical team has worked hard to make sure the information behind this EPD is accurate and robust, and it is good to see that confirmed through BRE’s verification process. It gives specifiers real confidence in our lintels and reflects the high standards we set for ourselves.”
The independently verified EPD aligns with Keystone Lintels’ ISO 14001 certified manufacturing practices and its wider sustainability commitments. Having a BRE verified EPD also strengthens the company’s credibility in a market where accurate environmental data is becoming essential for specification decisions.
Keystone’s EPD can be downloaded on the Keystone Lintels website and is published on GreenBook Live and NBS Source.
