On Monday 2nd March 2014, Keystone employees showed up in their dozens for a bake sale and coffee morning in support of local charity Cancer Focus NI. Staff kindly spent their weekends baking for the morning and others generously purchased donations for the event.

Here’s how it worked: Everyone either bought or baked donations of cakes, buns and tray bakes and all we asked for was a donation of £5 to buy a box to fill up with treats. Simple.

The following week, we were proud to present a representative from Cancer Focus NI (Emma McCann, Community Fundraiser – Mid Ulster) with a cheque for £500 – the final amount raised from our cake sale and coffee morning. Emma commented; “Terrific amount raised – the group are only half way through the challenge and have raised a total of £7000 already!”

Community involvement and fundraising are central to the values of the company, especially activities concerning such worthy causes.

This fundraising activity took part in support of our employees, Arthur Carson (Keylite Roof Windows) and Laurance Belton (Keystone Lintels), who are part of a larger fundraising ‘Focus Fit’ group for Cancer Focus NI. They have been pushing themselves to the limit with the Focus Fit challenge as well as a number of other activities for fundraising. Read our interview with Emma for further information.
