Weep Vents & Stop Ends

Keystone Weep Vents are positioned within masonry perp joints, where they allow water collected by DPCs, cavity trays and lintels to drain safely to the outside. They also provide ventilation, helping to encourage airflow within the cavity.

NHBC Standards require at least two weepholes above each opening, positioned at no more than 450mm centres. Keystone Weep Vents provide a simple way to meet this requirement as part of the overall cavity drainage detail.

Keystone Stop Ends are fitted at each end of a lintel to help prevent collected water from cascading over the ends into the cavity and potentially reaching the inner leaf. Instead, water is contained and directed towards the weep vents, where it can drain safely through the external masonry.

This is an important part of the moisture management detail. NHBC Standards state that cavity trays or combined lintels should have stop ends, with the stop ends of sufficient height to contain water and discharge it safely.

Keystone Stop Ends are available in two standard sizes and are secured to the moulded base of the lintel using a butyl anchoring strip. This allows the Stop End to be positioned towards the end of the lintel to suit the masonry perp joint.
