Supporting correct specification and installation
Correct specification starts with the brickwork opening, loading requirements and brick bond. Keystone Lintels’ technical team can provide guidance where requirements fall outside the standard range or where variations to the standard stop end positions are needed.
Onsite, the NCCTL is installed with a minimum 150mm end bearing, taking account of the position of the mechanically fixed stop ends. The lintel should be bedded in mortar and levelled along its length and width, with the masonry above constructed in accordance with the relevant installation guidance.
Installation guidance
The external lintel flange must project beyond the window or door frame and masonry must not overhang the lintel flange by more than 25mm. Temporary propping beneath the lintel can be used to facilitate construction.
Lintels should not be cut to length or modified without first consulting a Keystone Lintels engineer.
Technical support
From selecting the appropriate lintel through to non-standard brickwork or loading requirements, our technical team can provide guidance to support correct specification and installation.
For openings over 3047.5mm or variations from the standard range, speak to our technical team about your project requirements.
