Keystone Lintels is proud to have received certification from the British Board of Agrément (BBA) for its Hi-therm+ Lintel making it the only BBA Approved one piece lintel solution which achieves the appendix R value for steel lintels in Part L 2013 (depending on wall construction). The Hi-therm+ Lintel is up to 5 times more thermally efficient than a standard steel cavity wall lintel therefore reducing thermal bridging & improving SAP calculations.
The BBA is one of the UK’s leading bodies offering approval, certification and test services to manufacturers of products and systems supplying the construction industry. Only products and systems that have passed a series of comprehensive assessments – including laboratory tests, on-site evaluations, quality management checks and inspections of production are awarded an Agrément Certificate.
BBA experts conducted assessments, audits and tests throughout the development of the Hi-therm+ Lintel to ensure it met their strict quality standards. The key factors assessed throughout the testing included structural performance, behaviour in relation to fire, thermal performance, condensation risk and durability.
Products that receive BBA certification are recognised by building control, government departments, architects, specifiers and industry insurers such as the NHBC. It is a mark of quality, safety and reliability. BBA certificates are awarded only to lintel companies who continuously carry out approved load testing and operate under strict quality control manufacturing procedures.
David Grace, Sales Director at Keystone Lintels commented “We are delighted to have been awarded BBA certification for our Hi-therm+ lintel as it is a widely respected mark of quality assurance across the construction industry. At Keystone we invest heavily in research and development to continuously improve our products and deliver thermally efficient solutions. We are pleased to say that Hi-therm+ is the only BBA Approved one piece lintel solution which achieves the appendix R value for steel lintels in Part L 2013 (depending on wall construction). We have worked closely with the BBA throughout the development of Hi-therm+ to ensure we are providing our customers with innovative solutions which meet the highest quality and safety standards.”
